LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena College defeated the Monmouth University men in a Metro Atlantic Athlletic Conference game Saturday afternoon, 1-0.

The Saints capitalized on a turnover and quickly passed it to Aaron Martin, who roofed it in from in close in the 71st minute.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Sean Murray registered five saves in the loss as the Hawks fell to 2-6-1, 0-2-0. Siena improved to 3-4-3, 2-0-0.

“Our guys battled hard today but came up short,” Monmouth head coach Robert McCourt said. “There are still eight MAAC games left, so we will continue to stick together and fight for a place in the post season.”

Monmouth will host Fairfield University Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
