Regardless what transpires in their Sunday showdown with Atlanta United, the Red Bulls accomplished one thing without even playing Saturday night. They have clinched a first-round bye in the knockout round of the MLS playoffs.

Thanks to New York City FC’s 2-1 loss to Minnesota United Saturday night, the Red Bulls will start their postseason odyessey in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Red Bulls, behind their standing as one of the top two teams in the conference, will host Leg 2 of the semifinals at Red Bull Arena Nov. 11.

Leg 1 will take place on Nov. 4.

Red Members have first two MLS Cup playoff matches included in their ticket package. They also will have the opportunity to purchase additional seats.

The Red Bulls, who trail Atlanta by four points in their Shield quest, will host the Georgia side at RBA at 1 p.m. Sunday.
