UNION., N.J. — Despite outshooting Kean University, 20-12, the Baruch College men twice lost the lead and settled for a 2-2 non-conference tie Monday night.
In a battle of City University of New York Athletic Conference and New Jersey Athletic Conference sides, the Bearcats (3-3-1) set the tone early with Alexey Arefev scoring 46 seconds into the match on a free kick by Javier Arellano Crespo.
Kean (4-3-2) tied it in the 10th minute with Felipe Lucas scoring his eighth goal of the season by curling a free kick over the Bearcats’ defensive wall.
The Bearcats responded to jump ahead again in the 25th minute as Juan Heeren took a pass from Cormac Foley and redirected the ball past an outstretched goalkeeper.
Kean tied it in the second half with Ramesses Moore-Guiness scoring in the 58th minute.
