HARRISONBURG, Va. – Haley Crawford scored an unassisted goal early in the second half as James Madison University defeated the Hofstra University women, 1-0, at Sentara Park Sunday afternoon.

The loss snapped a 13-game Colonial Athletic Association winning streak dating back to 2016 for the Pride (7-4-0, 1-1-0), as well as its three-game winning streak overall. The Dukes improved to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in the CAA.

Crawford’s goal was an individual effort as she dribbled nearly 40 yards and struck a left footed shot past a diving Ashley Wilson for the lone goal on the day at the 54:00 mark. Hofstra had two excellent scoring chances in the 84th minute, but Alia Mentzell’s shot struck the post and Lucy Porter’s shot on the ensuing rebound was saved by Hannah McShea.

Wilson made two second-half saves for the Pride. Hofstra starter Jenna Borresen also had two saves in a scoreless first half. McShea finished with four saves in goal for James Madison.

Hofstra hosts the University of Delaware at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Thursday at 7 p.m.
