MATTHEWS, N.C. — Second-half substitute Anatole Abang scored the equalizer to lift Red Bull to a 1-1 draw in United Soccer League action at the Sportsplex at Matthews Saturday night.

Abang, who came on for Amado Moreno in the 68th minute, pounced on a deflected shot that the Charlotte goalkeeper couldn’t handle. It was Abang’s second successve game with a goal.

NYRB II (10-8-12, 42 points) outshot Charlotte (9-11-10, 37), 26-9.

The draw earned New York its ninth point in 14 road matches this season.

Allen Yanes and Cristian Casseres, Jr. returned to the Starting XI after returning from international duty with their respective countries Guatemala and Venezuela.

NYRB II will continue its four-match road trip as its head to Cary, N.C. to meet North Carolina FC Sept. 29.
