YONKERS, N.Y. — Adam Himeno scored two goals and set up a third to power the N.Y. Pancyprian Freedoms to a 4-0 rout of Lansdowne Bhoys in a confrontation of Cosmopolitan Soccer League powers in the first local qualifying round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Saturday night.

Pancyprian broke open the game by scoring three goals within a 14-minute span in second half at Tibbets Brook Park.

As it turned out, Himeno had the first and last words for Pancyprian.

He gave the visitors all the scoring they needed in the 25th minute when he tapped home a shot by Luis Esteves past goalkeeper Abdoukarim Danso for a 1-0 lead.

Former Red Bull Michael Palacio doubled the lead as he converted Eseves into the lower left corner of the net in the 70th minute.

Six minutes later, an unmarked Gerassimos Magoulas made it 3-0 as he knocked Himeno’s square pass into the net.

Himeno put an exclamation point on the win as he tallied in the 84th minute.

Three-time Open Cup champion Pancyprian qualified for the second round, which will be played Oct. 21-22. The club won championships in 1980, 1982 and 1983.
