RIVERDALE, N.Y. — The New York University men scored three consecutive goals, including two in the second half, to overcome a two-goal deficit and register a 3-2 victory over Baruch College at Gaelic Park Wednesday night.
Matteo Russo snapped a 2-2 tie in the 76th minute.
The Bearcats started strong early and led 2-0 after 25 minutes.
Natari Mohammed scored the first by knocking in a rebound off a save on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute. The Bearcats scored again three minutes later on a goal by Javier Arellano Crespo, the current City University of New York Athletic Conference player of the week, who managed to get enough space in the box to kick a quick shot past the goalkeeper.
The Violets scored a goal right before the end of the first half with Maxi Rodriguez one-timing a cross for a 2-1 scoreline.
NYU outshot the Bearcats 10-2 in the second half and goals by Sergio Monton (57th minute) and Russo completed the home comeback.
