HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Hofstra University men take their two-game unbeaten streak on the road to Stony Brook University Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. meeting at LaValle Stadium.
Hofstra (1-3-2) is coming off a week that saw it tie at Seton Hall (0-0) before opening the home schedule with a 3-0 victory over Harvard University Saturday. Oscar Ramsay had a goal and an assist, while reigning Colonial Athletic Association rookie of the week Luca Tausch and Matthew Vowinkel tallied the other Pride goals. Storm Strongin and Marcus Lindqvist added assists. Goalkeeper Alex Ashton did not need to make a save in recording his second clean sheet in a row.
Stony Brook (2-2-1) is coming off a 1-0-1 week with a win over Saint Joseph’s, 2-1, and a 1-1 tie at Siena College. The Seawolves outshot Siena, 21-10, in the draw. Stony Brook fell behind, 1-0, before Serge Gamwanya tied the score late in the first half.
The Pride holds a 15-10-6 advantage in the all-time series, but is 2-2-1 in the last five meetings. The teams played to a 1-1 draw at Hofstra in 2017.
