WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Despite holding the 19-8 advantage in shots, the Monmouth University men could not score and tied Binghamton University, 0-0, Tuesday night.

The Hawks created multiple opportunities in the match and racked up eight shots on goal.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Sean Murray earned his first career shutout, saving four shots in 110 minutes. Monmouth’s record moved to 0-3-1 as did Binghamton. The Hawks will travel to Princeton looking for its first win Saturday.

“Tonight’s match was a hard fought battle and a scrappy college soccer game,” Monmouth head coach Robert McCourt said. “The guys showed a lot of character fighting through the heat. We are going to move on and start getting ready for Princeton.”
