Buoyed by a pair of late triumphs at the Wisconsin Invitational, Fordham University moved four steps up the ladder in the latest United Soccer League coaches poll, which was released Tuesday.

The Rams climbed from 15th to 11th place among Division I school.

In fact, Fordham (3-0-0) was the only men’s team in the New York-New Jersey area that was ranked or received votes.

The Bronx, N.Y. school started the season with a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross College Aug. 24 before registering 1-0 and 3-2 wins over the University of Wisconsin and Northeastern University Saturday and Monday, respectively.

Fordham, which reached last year’s NCAA tournament quarterfinals, plays at Bryant Saturday at 4 p.m. before visiting Marist College Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.

Wake Forest University (3-0-0) retained the top spot in the poll, followed by Duke University (3-0-0).
