BRONX, N.Y. – Lehman College sophomore Rebecca Gritz has been named City University of New York Athletic Conference women’s player of the week, it was announced Tuesday.

Gritz, a native of the Bronx and graduate of the Summit School had a stellar performance Friday as she made a career-best 11 saves to earn a shutout in the Lightning’s home opener after holding NJAC’s Rutgers-Newark to a scoreless draw.

It was also Gritz’s 10th career shutout at Lehman.

Gritz and the Lightning travel to SUNY-Maritime to face the Privateers Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
