CHICAGO – U.S. women’s national team forward Megan Rapinoe has been ruled out of the upcoming friendly matches against Chile due to a rib injury suffered while playing with the Seattle Reign in last Tuesday’s National Women’s Soccer League match against the Houston Dash.

Rapinoe still will join the U.S. team in camp for further evaluation of the injury.

Utah Royals FC forward Amy Rodriguez, who has 131 caps and 30 goals in her international career, has been added to the training camp roster, which features 23 players.

U.S. head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players to the roster for each of the two matches against Chile, taking place Friday, Aug. 31 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. (11 p.m. ET on ESPN2) and Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. (10 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and UDN).
