It appears Patrick Vieira is trying to vie one of his former players to his new club, Nice, according to a media report out of Paraguay Friday.

The French Ligue 1 team has offered New York City FC $7.43 million for midfielder Jesus Medina, according to a tweet by Futbol a lo Grande of Monumental.com.py.

Vieira guided NYCFC’s fortunes since the start of the 2016 Major League Soccer season before leaving to coach Nice in June. He brought Medina to the club this year.

The 21-year-old international has been one of the big bright spots for City this season, scoring six goals and setting up seven others in 19 starts over 24 games.
