The Motown Lions recorded a 1-0 victory over Lansdowne Bhoys in the NESL semifinals Sunday.

The team is a hybrid of the Jackson Lions and FC Motown. The latter side lost in the National Premier Soccer League final to Miami FC 2, 3-1, only eight days prior.

Former Trinidad & Tobago international center back Julius James scored the lone goal and goalkeeper Ryan Baird recorded the shutout.

As it turns out, seven Lions players were on the FC Motown squad that reached the NPSL championship.

Kabo Danso, who was in the net for FC Motown in the NPSL final, was on the other end for Lansdowne Sunday as he put in an outstanding performance.

FC Motown will meet West Chester United SC at home in the NESL final, “in the never-ending season,” the club said on Twitter.

Lansdowne Bhoys also play in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League.
