The Red Bulls announced Sunday they have placed defender Tommy Redding on season-ending injury reserve.

Redding underwent successful surgery to reconstruct his left shoulder last week with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

“Recovery is going well and I can’t wait to get back on the field as soon as possible!” Redding said on Twitter.

Obtained in a trade that sent midfielder Sacha Kljestan to Orlando City SC, Redding playing only one league match this season — in a 4-3 defeat at Orlando March 31. He went the full 90 minutes.

Midfielder Vincent Bezecourt suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee in last Friday’s United Soccer League match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

He will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
