Portland Thorns FC head coach Mark Parsons and former Long Island Rough Riders women’s coach Emma Hayes, now with Chelsea, have been short-listed as finalists for FIFA’s Best Women’s Coach for 2018, it was announced Tuesday.

They were among four club coaches on the 10-name list.

Others on the list included VFL Wolfsburg coach Stephan Lerch, Olympique Lyonnais coach Reynald Pedros, Australia national coach Alen Statjcic, Japan national coach Asako Takakura, Brazil national coach Vadao, Spanish national coach Jorge Vilda, Switzerland national team coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg and Dutch national coach Sarina Wiegman.

U.S. national coach Jill Ellis, who directs the top-ranked side in the world, was not among the 10.

8 a.m: The Best FIFA Women’s Coach shortlist

9 a.m.: The Best FIFA Men’s Coach shortlist

10 a.m.: The Best FIFA Women’s Player shortlist

11 a.m.: The Best FIFA Men’s Player shortlist

The FIFA World Player Gala will be held in London Sept. 24.
