CINCINNATI — Red Bull II’s road woes continued Saturday night as the club dropped a 2-1 United Soccer League decision at FC Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium.
NYRBII (8-6-7, 31 points) dropped to 0-4-6 away from home while Cincy (44) imroved to 13-3-5.
The match featured the top two scoring teams in the USL, with NYRBII entering the game 43 goals and Cincinnati at 39.
A high-scoring game never materialized.
Cincinnati grabbed a 17th-minute lead as Forrest Lasso found the back of the net off a corner kick.
NYRB II answered with pressure from defender Hassan Ndam in the box, which forced Danni König to redirect the ball into his own net to level the score in the 25th minute. Fhs own goal broke Cincinnati’s streak of four consecutive clean sheets and as the first away goal scored at Nippert Stadium since June 13.
