PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Reeling Sky Blue FC will try to record its first win of the National Women’s Soccer League season as it hosts Portland Thorns FC at Yurcak Field Saturday at 7 p.m.

The game will mark the second meeting of the season between the two sides. The two clubs met in June at Providence Park, playing to 1-1 draw. A Christine Sinclair to Lindsey Horan goal in the 45th minute gave Portland (7-5-5, 26) a 1-0 advantage in that contest before Carli Lloyd buried a second-half penalty kick to level the count in the 77th minute.

Sky Blue FC (0-12-3, 3 points) will look to snap a three-game losing streak after dropping a 4-0 home loss to first-place North Carolina Courage Saturday. Lynn Williams registered a hat-trick.

The Thorns have two-match winning streak. The fifth-place side has earned a result in five of its past six games. Portland defeated the Houston Dash at Providence Park, 3-1, Sunday.

Both teams will miss some key players on international duty this weekend. Sky Blue FC will be without the services of Carli Lloyd (U.S.) and Katie Johnson (Mexico), while the Thorns will be without Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan, Adrianna Franch and Emily Sonnett as they prepare for the upcoming Tournament of Nations with the U.S. women’s national team.

Sky Blue FC leads the all-time series at 6-5-3, with a mark of 2-2-1 at Yurcak Field.
