UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Don’t expect Cosmos B striker Bledi Bardic to be healthy enough to play in this week’s National Premier Soccer League action.

Bardic, who suffered a hamstring injury in the team’s 4-2 extratime victory over the Elm City Express in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals last week, won’t be available for Wednesday’s 7:30 p.m. Northeast Region semifinal encounter against FC Frederick at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y.

If Cosmos B wins and advances, the team’s leading goal-scorer is highly unlikely to play in the Northeast final Saturday night.

Head coach Carlos Mendes said Tuesday that Bledi’s recovery was “a little slower than we originally thought. Again, still hopeful.”

“I don’t think we’ll have him back this week but maybe if we continue on, we’re playing in a championship [game], he can get back,” he added. “It’s something that you go day by day. He’s feeling better for sure, but still not ready to start training.”

Bardic, 26, chosen to the North Atlantic Conference XI last week, has scored a team-high 12 goals, including 10 during the regular season.
