ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Lady Lancers’ playoff chances took a hit Saturday as they allowed two goals within two minutes as they dropped a 3-1 United Women’s Soccer decision to Inferno Rush at Marina Auto Stadium.

The loss left Rochester (4-3-3, 15) in third place in the East Conference behind the first-place Inferno (6-2-1, 19 points) and runner-up Western New York Flash (5-2-0, 15).

The hosts got on the board first as Brooke Barbuto tallied from 12 yards past goalkeeper Kelly O’Brien.

Inferno’s Haley Crawford, however, turned the game on its head during a two-minute span later in the half. First, she, off an Ashley Chilcoast pass, beat her defender in the penalty area and then goalkeeper Kenna Kosinki to equalize in the 38th minute.

Only two minutes later, Crawford was at it again as he scored off a feed from Kendra Jones for a 2-1 lead.

In second-half stoppage time, Ryelle Shuey drilled a 30-yard shot to leave no doubt for the visitors.

The Lady Lancers will finish the regular season at the Flash at D’Youville College Saturday, July 14 at 6 p.m.
