NEW YORK — Ten was the magic number of Cosmos B and Bledi Bardic Saturday night.
Cosmos B capped a perfect regular season at 10-0-0 by recording a 4-0 victory over Kingston Stockade FC in National Premier Soccer League action at Commisso Stadium.
Striker Bledi Bardic also finished with 10, as in 10 goals. That came from the fact he recorded the team’s first hat-trick of the season. Wojciech Wojcik added a goal for Cosmos B (30 points), the North Atlantic champions. Kingston (11) completed its season at 3-5-2.
The hosts settled the matter early on as they struck twice within a five-minute span midway through the opening half.
Right back Jonathan Borrajo was the creative force behind both goals. First, he fed Wojcik, who headed the ball past goalkeeper TJ Zayner in the 21st minute.
It was the 10th time in as many games that Cosmos B scored the first goal.
Minutes later, Borrajo was at it again, this time feeding Bardic, who scored from close range for a 2-0 advantage in the 26th minute.
Bardic struck again in the 45th minute as he slipped home a Jalen Brown feed from eight yards for a 3-0 halftime lead.
The forward completed his three-goal night, slamming home Zaire Bartley’s right-wing feed in the 72nd minute.
Cosmos B will host the North Atlantic Conference fourth place team in the conference semifinals at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y. Wednesday night. If New York wins, it will host the conference final at Commisso Stadium Saturday, July 14.
