NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Cosmos B hopes it has played its last road match of the season.

The team finished a perfect 5-0 away from home by recording a 2-1 victory over Hartford City FC in National Premier Soccer League action at Central Connecticut State University Soccer Stadium Saturday night.

The win lifted the team’s overall record to 9-0-0 atop the North Atlantic Conference with one game remaining in the regular season.

Danny Szetela’s chip shot over the Hartford goalkeeper snapped a 1-1 tie in the 67th minute.

Darwin Espinal converted a Bledi Bardic pass in the 19th minute to boost the visitors into a 1-0 edge in the 19th minute before Hartford City (5-3-1, 16) equalized later in the opening half.

Cosmos B, which lead the NPSL power rankings, will host a conference semifinal game at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Wednesday, July 11. If New York wins that game, it will welcome an opponent to be determined in the conference final at Commisso Stadium at Columbia University Sunday, July 14.

If team finishes with the best record in the league, it can be in position to host the rest of its postseason matches.

New York will host Kingston Stockade SC in its final regular-season game at Commisso Stadium in Manhattan Saturday, July 7.
