The Rochester Lancers will welcome five new members to their Wall of Fame Saturday.

The inductees include:

* Rudy LePore and Patsy Frank, who were among the founders of the team

* Frank Tata, an original Lancer and a former Italian American Sport Club player that won the 1963 U.S. Amateur Cup title, which led to the formation of the Lancers in 1967

* Ron DeFrance, former Lancers TV play-by-play man and longtime Rochester radio and television sports personality

* Former goalkeeper Shep Messing, who performed for the Cosmos and New York Arrows, played for the Lancers in 1979. He is currently a color commentator for Red Bulls’ TV games on MSG Networks. Messing and soccer announcer JP Dellacamera are co-owners of the Connecticut Fusion in United Women’s Soccer.

Those five men will be inducted between games of the doubleheader featuring the Lancers and Lady Lancers at Marina Auto Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. Saturday.

In a battle for East Conference supremacy, the Lady Lancers (4-1-2, 14 points) welcome the second-place Western New York Flash (4-2-0) in a UWS match at 2 p.m.

The Lancers meet the last-place Greater Binghamton FC Thunder (0-9-0, 0) in a National Premier Soccer League clash at 5 p.m. Rochester (3-3-3, 12), which is in the East Conference, must win its remaining three regular-season games and have some outside help to reach the playoffs.
