MADISON, N.J. — FC Motown clinched a spot in the National Premier Soccer League playoffs Sunday night, cruising to a 6-0 victory over the Electric City Shock at Drew University.
The team, which improved its record to 7-0-0 and 21 points, is in first place in the Keystone Conference.
Kene Eze paced FC Motown with two goals as Nelson Becerra, Samuel Gehman, Julius James and Lucas Terci had one goal apiece.
Eze gave the hosts all the scoring they needed in the 15th minute before Gehman doubled the lead six minutes later.
Four minutes into the second half Becerra made it 3-0 before Eze struck for his second goal in the 70th minute.
James, a Trinidad & Tobago international, and Terci closed out the scoring in the 87th and 88th mintue, respectively.
If the stars align and both teams keep winning, FC Motown could be on its way to an Eastern Conference showdown with Cosmos B in the playoffs.
FC Motown has outscored its foes, 29-2, while Cosmos B (8-0-0, 24), which clinched a North Atlantic Conference Division playoff berth, has outscored its opponents, 34-7.
