ERIE, Pa. — One point was better than none, but whether Sunday’s draw at the first-place Erie Commodores FC was good enough for the Rochester Lancers to reach the National Premier Soccer League playoffs it remains to be seen.

Will Stone’s goal four minutes into stoppage time lift Rochester into a 1-1 tie at Gannon University Field for the time to earn one precious road point.

Fernando Martinez had lifted Erie into the lead in the 42nd minute.

The result meant that the Lancers (3-3-3, 12 points), who are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference Division need to win their final three regular-season matches to secure one of two playoff berths.

Rochester hosts Binghamton FC at Marina Auto Stadium Saturday, June 30 at 5 p.m., after the Lady Lancers meet the Western New York Flash at 2 p.m.
