HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Hofstra University women’s head coach Simon Riddiough announced the fall schedule for the defending Colonial Athletic Association champions Tuesday.
The Pride will open the season at Bucknell University Aug. 17 before taking on Fairfield University in the home opener on Aug. 19 at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
The 2018 slate features four teams that participated in the 2017 NCAA Division I Tournament – Bucknell, Virginia, Princeton and Stony Brook – with Virginia and Princeton earning the No. 3 and 4 seeds, respectively. The Pride’s schedule also includes 10 teams that finished the 2017 season with records of .500 or better and six that ranked in the top 100 in the final 2017 RPI.
Hofstra a went 15-4-2 last year, including a 9-0 mark in CAA play to earn the regular-season championship before capturing the tournament title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Pride ranked 31st in the final RPI of 2017.
Season tickets are available for $35, and will provide entry into eight women’s soccer home games and six men’s home matches.
All 2018 Hofstra Soccer season ticket holders will also receive a complimentary Hofstra seat cushion this year. Season ticket holders will receive one seat cushion per ticket purchased.
