QUEENS, N.Y. — All in all, it was quite a memorable 24 hours for the Rochester Lady Lancers.

They played two road games during that span and walked away with six points, which propelled the side into first place in the United Women’s Soccer East Conference.

On Saturday night, Rochester recorded a 2-1 victory over the Long Island Rough Riders at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y. Elin Eklund scored twice in that match.

On Sunday afternoon, the Lady Lancers registered a 2-0 triumph over the New York Surf at SUNY Maritime College, the team’s first clean sheet of the season.

They returned home with a 3-1-2 mark while the Surf fell to 1-4-2.

Player-assistant coach Brooke Barbuto struck for both goals as she has scored six goals this season.

The Lady Lancers return home to face New Jersey Copa FC at Marina Auto Stadium Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m.
