COLUMBUS, Ohio — Alex Muyl’s 57th-minute goal lifted the Red Bulls into a 1-1 tie with  Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium Saturday night.

The Red Bulls (23 points) moved to 7-4-2, while Columbus (27) now has a 7-3-6 mark.

Gyasi Zardes lifted Columbus into a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Harrison Afful chipped a pass to the far post to Zardes, who headed in his 10th goal of the season before a crowd of 11,246.

On New York’s second set piece of the second half, Marc Rzatkowski sent in the free kick for Muyl to flick in the equalizer. It was his second goal of the season.

Captain Luis Robles returned to action in net and registered a game-high five saves.
Defender Hassan Ndam, 19, made his first career MLS start. Ethan Kutler made his MLS debut in the second half.

The Red Bulls host the Seattle Sounders at Red Bull Arena Wednesday night before visiting the Philadelphia Union in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup next Saturday night.
