QUEENS, N.Y. — The St. John’s University women’s soccer program will see three of its current or former players suit up in international competition over the coming weeks.

Rachel Daly, the most prolific goal-scorer in program history, will join the women’s national team for its Women’s World Cup qualifier in Russia June 8.

Daly, who has 10 caps, is in her third season with the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League. The Harrogate, England, native leads the Dash with four goals, one away from tying her career high of five in 2017. Between 2013-15, Daly netted 50 goals for the Red Storm, shattering the program’s career scoring record and leading the Johnnies to a pair of NCAA Division I Tournament appearances.

A fellow England product, Lucy Whipp is set to make the latest in a long line of international appearances. The Ormskirk native, who has earned caps with the Under-15, U-17 and U-19 squads, will join England’s U-23 side for a friendly at Sweden June 9. A rising senior, Whipp ranked second on the Red Storm as a junior with seven points on one goal and five assists.

Zsani Kajan, a fixture on the Hungarian national team since she was 16, will head home for two matches. The Hungarians will host Greece in a friendly June 6 before heading to Denmark for a WCQ match June 12.
