Red Bulls defenders Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar Wednesday were named to Panama’s 23-man World Cup roster in Russia.

Panama qualified for its first World Cup, finishing in third place in the CONCACAF hexagonal.

Los Canaleros were drawn into Group G along with Belgium, England and Tunisia.

Panama qualified for their first ever World Cup, finishing in third place in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.

They were paired in Group G along with Belgium, England and Tunisia.

Escobar, Murillo and Panama will open their tournament against Belgium on June 18 on 11 a.m. ET. Los Canaleros then face England on June 24 at 8 a.m. ET before rounding out the group against Tunisia on June 28 at 2 p.m. ET.

Panama played Northern Ireland to a scoreless draw in Los Canaleros’ Farewell Match at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City Tuesday night.

Escobar started and played the entire match in the final match on Panamanian soil before Russia 2018. Murillo was on the bench for Panama after playing 90 minutes in the Red Bulls’ 0-0 draw with the Philaelphia Union Saturday.

For club, Murillo has started seven games, logging 630 minutes with one goal.

Escobar has started two games, playing 169 minutes and adding one goal in United Soccer League action.
