WAYNE, N.J. — Cosmos B continued to run roughshod through the National Premier Soccer League as it rolled to a 5-0 over nine-man TSF FC at DePaul Catholic High School Thursday night.
Striker Wojciech Wojcik connected for a brace for the second time in five days as Cosmos B improved to 4-0 while outscoring its foes, 17-2.
TSF FC (0-1-1) played most of the match with 10 players as one was red carded in the 35th minute. Its goalkeeper was given its marching orders later in the match.
Goalkeeper Macklin Robinson recorded the shutout.
Midfielder Darwin Espinal started the visitors’ assault by poking the ball past the TSF FC goalkeeper in the 13th minute.
Eight minutes later, Wojcik doubled the lead as he started working his way toward his double, firing home a shot from inside the penalty area.
Wojcik headed home John Neeskens’ corner kick in the 38th minute to grab a 3-0 advantage. It was the second successive game that a Neeskens corner set up a goal as Wojcik took the team goal-scoring lead with four.
Forward Bledi Bardic made it 4-0 on the hour as he finished off a Jonathan Borrajo cross.
In the waning minutes, substitute Zaire Bartley was taken down in the penalty area by the keeper, who was given a red card. Bartley converted the penalty just prior to the final whistle.
Cosmos B will take the Memorial Day weekend off before vying for win No. 5 at Rhode Island Reds FC June 2 at 7 p.m.
The team returns home to host New York Athletic Club at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium at Columbia University in New York City June 9 at 7 p.m.
