Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams is heading to Red Bull Leipzig, according to Metro New York.

The 19-year-old midfielder is close to finalizing a deal that would send him to the Bundesliga team, Kristian Dyer reported. It could happen after the MLS Cup playoffs this fall, although there is a possibility could happen in the summer, sources said.

Adams is in his third season with the Red Bulls and has become of the rising stars of U.S. Soccer, having made his international debut last November.

The Wappingers Falls, N.Y. native has become a respected defensive midfielder in Major League Soccer. He has started 29 matches out of 32 appearances, scoring twice and assisting on five goals.

This season Adams has played 566 minutes over six starts and seven matches, registering one assist.
