Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Friday postponed the inaugural Eastern New York Soccer Festival in Newburgh, N.Y. a second time.
The event was originally scheduled for last Saturday, May 12, but was postponed because the forecast called for heavy rain. It was rescheduled for Saturday, May 19, but there is a 100 percent chance of rain forecast for Newburgh Saturday.
Now, the festival has been rescheduled for Delano-Hitch Recreation Park in Newburgh Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This Soccer Open House will show boys and girls from the local area, all the good things that youth soccer offers to them, including the health benefits, making new friends and learning ideals such as teamwork and sportsmanship. The children and teenagers can play pick-up games on the four inflatable fields, test their skills on the half-dozen exhibits while some of Eastern New York’s nationally-licensed coaches help the kids with their skills. Volunteers from Eastern New York and the East Hudson Youth Soccer League will work the event.
The Red Bulls Street Team that will appear from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will perform freestyle tricks, sign jerseys and have their photos taken with local children.
