MADISON, N.J. – Former Montclair State University standout Lucas Terci will join FC Motown for the National Premier Soccer League side, it was announced Monday morning.

Terci, a midfielder who spent the last two seasons training with the Red Bulls II and trialed last summer with the Cosmos, is attacking player with a knack for scoring goals.

Three times a first team All-NJAC selection, Terci was named theD3Soccer.com Division III offensive player of the Year in 2016, his final season at Montclair State.

“I am extremely happy and excited to be joining with FC Motown,” Terci said.

“I would like to thank head coach Sacir Hot and ownership for giving me this opportunity. We’ve been training hard and have had a good preseason. I am ready and focused for the challenges we will face this season.”

Terci adds to an already solid attacking core for FC Motown. Earlier this offseason, former Red Bulls midfielder Dilly Duka agreed to join the expansion club.

“Lucas adds another component to our team and our attack,” Hot said. “He is a strong, technical player who has the ability to take an opponent on 1 v. 1. He is good in front of goal and dynamic in the final-third.”

This season will mark FC Motown’s first season in the NPSL. The club’s home matches will be played at Rangers Stadium on the campus of Drew University in Madison, N.J.

FC Motown opens its schedule on May 9th at Ranger Stadium in a first-round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against the the Red Bulls Under-23 team. Its first NPSL match for is against FC Monmouth at Ranger Stadium May 19.
