New York City FC forward Tajouri-Shradi was forced out of Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Atlanta United FC due to a hamstring injury.
The severity of the injury was not immediately known.
Entering the match, Tajouri-Shradi had scored four goals in three games.
“This is part of the life of a team,” NYCFC head coach Patrick Vieira said. “People get injured. We have to wait until we go back to New York to evaluate Ismael’s injuries. It is a hamstring. Hamstrings take time to recover. We will know more when we go back to New York.”
Tajouri-Shradi was replaced by team captain David Villa in the 35th minute. Villa, who recently recovered from a calf muscle injury, converted a penalty kick and set up Alex Ring’s equalizer in the 73rd minute.
