New York City FC’s depth certainly will be tested when it visits the New England Revolution Saturday, March 24.

The Major League Soccer club will be down at least three players, including two starters for that encounter.

Forward Rodney Wallace and defender Ronald Matarrita were summoned by the Costa Rican national team while midfielder Alex Ring got the call from Finland. Wallace and Ring started the first two City matches this season.

The Ticos, who are preparing to participate at the World Cup in Russia this summer, will play Scotland at Glasgow’s Hampden Park March 23 before it meets Tunisia at the Allianz Riveria in Nice, France March 27.

Finland will meet Macadonia at the Arcadia Football Center in Belek, Turkey March 23 before taking on Malta at the same venue March 26.

Other Costa Rican players in MLS recalled included Minnesota United defender Francisco Calvo, Vancouver Whitecaps defender Kendall Waston, Portland Timbers midfielder David Guzman, D.C. United midfielder Ulises Segura and Los Angeles FC striker Marcos Urena.
