FC Motown is acquiring a double national champion.
Abdoukarim “Kabo” Danso will join FC Motown for this National Premier Soccer League season, according to a local soccer source.
Danso, backstopped the Lansdowne Bhoys to a pair of national titles in 2017, is a former Namibian youth national team goalkeeper.
Lansdowne, which competes in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, earned its titles within a two-week span last August, capturing the Fritz Marth Amateur Cup and the Werner Fricker Open Cup.
The Bhoys edged Milwaukee Bavaria SC, 9-8 in penalty kicks to win the Amateur Cup as Danso made three saves during the shootout and recorded a 5-0 victory over Motagua New Orleans to take home the Open Cup.
FC Motown will make its NPSL debut this season and will play at Drew University in Madison, N.J., the venue where the Republic of Ireland trained for the 1994 World Cup.
