QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s women’s soccer team unveiled its six-game spring season Tuesday, head coach Ian Stone announced.

For the sixth consecutive spring, the Red Storm will face off against Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, the top professional women’s league in the United States. Kick off for the match is set for March 18 at 2 p.m. at Sportika in Manalapan, N.J.

The following Sunday, March 25 at 1 p.m., St. John’s will play its first of four matches against other Division I squads, traveling to the University of Pennsylvania.

The Red Storm will make its Belson Stadium debut Friday, April 6, welcoming the Manhattan College Jaspers to Queens for a 7 p.m. match. The Jaspers compiled a record of 10-7-3 in 2017, including two wins in a run to the championship game of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament.

Two days later, the Red Storm will welcome back Johnnies of yesteryear for its annual alumni game, pitting the current roster against some of the top players in St. John’s history April 8 at 1 p.m.

St. John’s will play its final home game of the spring schedule on April 14, hosting Stony Brook at 11 a.m. at Belson. After finishing the 2017 regular season at 8-10, the Seawolves tore through the America East Tournament as the fifth seed, winning three successive games, including an upset of top-seeded New Hampshire, to claim the conference’s crown. Stony Brook met with perennial national powerhouse Penn State in the opening round of the NCAA Division I tournament, falling to the Nittany Lions, 7-0.

The Red Storm will close out its spring slate with a road match, traveling to Quinnipiac for a 1 p.m. encounter April 22 The Bobcats compiled a winning record this past fall, going 9-7-3 and earning a spot in the MAAC semifinals.
