METUCHEN, N.J. – Three New Jersey Copa FC players – Mike Prosuk, Nick Sica and Ryan Campbell – have been named to the National Premier Soccer League Combine Northeast Region Team.
They will attend the fourth annual NPSL Player Showcase which at Austin-Tindall Park in Kissimmee, Fla. Jan. 13-15.
“We are incredibly proud of Mike, Nick and Ryan,” said head coach Roberto Aguas, who will coach the Northeast Region team at the showcase. “Not only did they have fantastic seasons for us in the summer of 2017, but they went on to have stand-out years with their respective colleges. This is a tremendous opportunity to play in front of professional coaches, scouts and agents, and we are confident that they will prove themselves down in Florida.”
Prosuk had a break-out year, earning player of the match honors after netting two goals against Hershey FC. A sophomore transfer at Ohio State, Prosuk made his presence known by scoring the game-winning goal in his first match for the Buckeyes. He went on to notch a goal in Ohio State’s upset of Michigan State in the Big 10 quarterfinals.
Sica, one of NJCFC’s starting center backs, had a strong showing in 2017 NPSL season, anchoring an excellent backline and helping the team clinch the 2017 regular season championship. Playing at Kean University, the sophomore helped guide the Cougars to the NJAC Conference Tournament.
Campbell, a freshman at Rowan University, was a break-out star of NJCFC last summer, earning player of the match honors several times. Campbell proved himself to be one of the Profs best offensive weapons, scoring 10 goals in his first season, including one four-goal game.
