Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence has been nominated for two CONCACAF awards — defender of the year and goal of the year.

Lawrence, who finished an outstanding year for club and country, scored one of the most historic goals for Jamaica in its 1-0 semifinal triumph over defending champion Mexico at the Rose Bowl in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July. He connected on the game-winner off a marvelous 24-yard free kick in the 88th minute.

The 25-year-old Lawrence started 23 games, playing in 24 over 2,076 minutes for New York this season, mostly at left back.

During the Gold Cup, the 5-10, 160-lb. Lawrence started all six games for the Reggae Boyz.
