CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gabriel Cabral scored the first goal and helped create the second one to lead the University of Charleston to a 2-0 win over LIU Post in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II men’s soccer tournament at Schoenbaum Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (19-1-2) clinched a spot in the Final Four while the Pioneers (18-1-2) suffered their first loss of the season.

Cabral tallied with 34 seconds remaining in the first half.

He turned playmaker for the second goal, setting up Robin Lapert’s score at 73:04.

The hosts outshot the Pioneers, 909.

LIU Post, which had defeated Long Island-rival Adelphi for the East Region crown here Thursday, 3-0, placed four shots on goal, Charleston three.
