WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior forward Kynan Rocks scored in the 103rd minute to boost Columbia University to a 2-1 triumph over William & Mary College in the first round of the NCAA Division I men’s soccer tournament at Martin Family Stadium Thursday night.

The Lions (12-2-3) will meet top-seeded Wake Forest in North Carolina in the second round Sunday as the Tribe finished its season at 11-5-5.

On the game-winner, John Denis played a corner kick into the far post, and Alex Bagerl headed it off the post. The rebound played right back to the middle of the six where Rocks toe-poked it in for the winner.

The hosts jumped on the board first with in the 31st minute. Sophomore Reeves Trott found junior Ryder Bell, who drove to about 30 yards. Bell rocketed his shot off of the right post, but bounded into the net for his seventh goal this season.

Columbia found the equalizer in the 77th minute off a corner kick. Nike Azuma sent an attempt into the front of the net. Zach Morant headed the ball down and into the goal.
