The same group that guided the Rochester Lancers within one point of the National Premier Soccer League playoffs in their inaugural season will return in 2018.
Head coach Doug Miller and assistant coaches Adam Schwartz and Rey Martinez will be running the show again.
Despite having only six weeks to put together a team in 2017, Miller and his staff managed to direct the side to a third-place finish in the Midwest Conference’s East Division a 6-4-2 mark.
“With the coaching staff in place, we look to bring back the core of the team and add some new faces at our combine in December,” general manager Marc Mandell said.
Co-owner Nick Mojsovski was optimistic that the earlier start will give the team a boost heading into its second season.
“I feel we are headed for great things in 2018,” he said. “Coach Miller and his staff bring a level of professionalism to our team, and I feel we have the tools to be one of the top teams in the NPSL.”
The Lancers will train at Glacier Ridge Sports Park Saturday, Dec. 30 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
