HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Four members of the Hofstra University men’s team have earned postseason awards from the Colonial Athletic Association, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.

Seniors Danny Elliott and Mani Walcott were named to the All-CAA first team, while sophomore Luke Brown earned a spot on the third team and freshman George O’Malley was named to the All-Rookie Team.

Elliott tied for the team lead with nine points, with two of his three goals as game-winners. He also recorded three assists, including two in conference play. The Nottingham, England, native led the team in shots (52) and shots on goal (18). The honor was Elliott’s third season receiving all-conference recognition and first time as a first-team honoree after making the second team a season ago.

Walcott has earned all-conference honors in all four of his seasons, with this marking his first time on the first team after back-to-back third-team awards. The Beltsville, Maryland, native appeared in all 18 games, making 14 starts in the midfield. He also netted the equalizer against UNCW en route to a 2-1 extratime win that clinched a berth in the conference tournament.

Last season’s CAA rookie of the year, Brown’s third team nod was his second consecutive all-conference honor as he finished tied for the team points lead with Elliott with three goals and three assists. He finished the season strong, posting six points in his final four games. The Cambridgeshire, England, native assisted on Walcott’s tying goal against UNCW before scoring the game-winner in extratime.

O’Malley started all 18 games in his rookie season, rarely leaving the field as one of the Pride’s center backs. A native of Harrow, England, O’Malley was a solid defender, helping Hofstra to five shutouts. He picked up his first career point with an assist on an equalizer that earned the Pride a point in a 1-1 draw at James Madison.
