TAMPA, Fla. – OKC Energy FC forward Jose Angulo has been voted the United Soccer League player of the month for October.

The former Clifton, N.J. resident wrapped up the USL regular season with six goals and three assists in the month, as his attacking performances led Energy FC to a third consecutive berth in the USL Cup Playoffs.

Angulo received 59 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL technical committee, a national panel of independent media representing every USL market and an online fan vote held at USLSoccer.com.

He was a member of the Red Bulls in 2012, but did not play. Angulo has played for the Newark Ironbound Express and Central Jersey Spartans. In the USL, he has performed for the Harrisburg City Islanders, Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Saint Louis FC. In the North American Soccer League, he has played for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

Orange County SC’s Irvin Parra finished second with 15 percent, while San Antonio FC’s Ever Guzman took third with 14 percent.
