NEW YORK — Baruch College ended a four-match losing streak with a 4-0 home win in non-league action against St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn at Randall’s Island Field #75 Friday night.
The Bearcats outshot the visitors from the Skyline Conference, 30-7, which included a 19-4 margin in the first half.
The Bearcats, who play in the City University of New York Athletic Conference, attacked from the opening whistle, forcing goalkeeper Olejandro Oliveros to make 11 saves in the first half.
Rookie Austin Tucker scored the first goal in the third minute thanks to a through ball by Kevin Zhagui .
The Bearcats exploded in the second half with goals by Bakary Kida, Macdara Heanue and a second by Tucker.
Victor Torres (three saves) and Elliot Breslav combined for the shutout.
The Bearcats will continue their homestand against William Paterson University at Randall’s Island Field #10 Monday at 5 p.m.
