NEW YORK — A late rally by Baruch College came up one goal short in a 3-2 non-conference loss to New York University at Gaelic Park Monday night.

The visiting Bearcats fell behind 3-0 with the first goal scored by NYU in the fourth minute on a long through ball that found Inder Sharma. The Violets scored two more in a span of four minutes in the second half, starting in the 53rd minute, to build up a 3-0 advantage.

The Bearcats did not go away quietly thanks to Dortion Alipaj, who scored in the 73rd minute off a rebound and 88th minute again during a defensive scrum in the box to get as close as 3-2.

The Bearcats out shot their hosts by a 21-10 margin.
