Sacha Kljestan, who helped create two goals in the Red Bulls’ 3-0 home win over the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday night, was named FrontRowSoccer.com player of the week Monday.

The veteran midfielder was honored for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 8.

The Red Bulls struck in the 33rd minute as Tyler Adams swung a pass from the right side of the 18-yard box to Kljestan, who continued to the left side of the box to Daniel Royer. Royer dribbled into the box and looped his shot to the far post for the 1-0 lead.

In the 72nd minute, Kljestan found himself near the goal line and sent his pass back to the top of the box. With Bradley Wright-Phillips and Felipe coming at the ball, Felipe gained possession and sent a rocket past Ousted for a 3-0 advantage.

This was the second time this season that Kljestan has earned this honor.
