EDISON, N.J. – Monmouth University redshirt sophomore forward Madie Gibson was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s soccer offensive player of the week, it was announced Monday.

Gibson factored in all four of Monmouth’s goals this past week as the Hawks remained perfect in MAAC play with victories over Iona College and Manhattan College. She drew a penalty kick and assisted the game-winning goal at Iona Wednesday and scored both of Monmouth’s goals in the win over Manhattan. Gibson recorded her second-career multiple-goal game and has three goals in 2017 to give her 45 career points in 34 games.

The Hawks extended their home winning streak to an NCAA-best 13 games in the 2-1 win over the Jaspers and remained perfect at home in MAAC play since joining the conference (23-0-0). Monmouth is unbeaten in 10 straight matches overall (9-0-1) and is 19-0-1 in its last 20 conference games.

Monmouth continues MAAC play at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn as it hosts Marist College Wednesday at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on WatchESPN.
