BRONX, N.Y. – Jacob Bohm scored in the 73rd minute while goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu made five saves, as the Fordham University men defeated La Salle University, 1-0, in Atlantic 10 action at Jack Coffey Field Wednesday night.

Fordham (7-2-2, 1-0-1) extended its unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1), the longest such streak since 2006, when the Rams had a nine-game undefeated streak (6-0-3). The loss moved La Salle to 4-6-1, 0-2.

The Rams broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute off a set piece. Jannik Loebe took a corner kick from the left side, finding Christopher Bazzini on the right side of the six-yard box. Bazzini headed the ball back across to the left side, where Matthew Lewis headed the ball to the center of the box to Bohm. Bohm volleyed a shot from 11 yards into the top right corner of the goal for his first career goal.

La Salle did not go away quietly as Nuhu had to come up with a big save in the 74th minute. Jesper Lenander 24-yard fired a shot, aiming for the left side of the goal, but Nuhu made a diving stop.

Nuhu registered his seventh shutout while La Salle’s Mark Tobin made three stops.

Fordham hosts Virginia Commonwealth University VCU at Jack Coffey Field in a re-match of last year’s Atlantic 10 championship Saturday at 7 p.m.
